Favourite childhood story of mine

Childhood is one of the best moments of a person to have the most fun and enjoyable time in life. I really miss my childhood and i wish that i can go back to the past and enjoy it again. My childhood life really reminds me of happiness and it makes me remember of children stories that i red. My favourite childhood story is Lazy Jack written by Joseph Jacobs.

1.     The reason/s you choose the story

For real, I choose this story because it is funny. This story have the elements of humour and suspend, both of these element make this story more interesting to read. I read this story when i was in standard 6 and really pull my attention. When i read this story for the first time, i feel the suspend element in it and i wanted to read it till the end. The title makes me read this story, it is because i wanted to know who lazy jack is and what makes him being called lazy jack, this curiosity makes me read this story.

2.    What element(s) in the story that make you think that the story is interesting.

As i told before, this story has an interesting story line as it has the element of suspend. As the story evolve the element of suspend makes me continue to read it. Can you imagine a story without suspend element, i bet you that story will makes you feel bored. This element will makes the reader think on what will happen next as the title itself also have the suspend element that when you read the title you wanted to know what will happen to a lazy person.
3. The portrayal of characters in the story

                From the title we know that the main character of this funny story is the one and only Lazy Jack. His mother is the character that makes the story flow as she is the one that makes lazy Jack to work. Let me introduce the character:

Lazy Jack: Jack is a lazy person as he just sits around the house doing nothing, and his mother tells him he'd better go and get a job or else he will never get his porridge and he must go out to get his living as he could.

Jack’s Mother : An old woman who got her living by spinning, and she is a strict person as she force jack to to earn something for the living.

4.       The plot of the story

                The plot of this story is simple but yet it is interesting to read. It starts with the introduction of Jack’s family condition and the introduction of Lazy Jack. As the story evolves we can see that this story is about the determination of one lazy guy to earn something for the living. The ending is the biggest surprise that we can get from the story as the story has a very happy ending. Who can expect that a lazy person cans end up with a wealthy life. Interesting isn’t it.

5.       The suitability of the story as children story

                Sincerely i can tell that this book is very suitable for children as i am also a child in the past. With all the interesting element, it can be the best children story of all time. This story is very subjectif for children is because children have high level of curiosity to learn and to know something and with the suspend element this story is the one that children should read.
